| <h2><a name="rationale">Rationale</a></h2> |
| <P>Boost smart pointers usually overload those functions to provide a mechanism to |
| emulate pointers casts. For example, <code>boost::shared_ptr<...></code> implements |
| a static pointer cast this way:</P> |
